Key Initiatives

  • Scholarships
We have a long-standing tradition of sponsoring and funding scholarships at the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. These scholarships encourage students to pursue their professional goals and contribute positively to society.
  • Young Authors Contest
In collaboration with the Tucson Festival of Books, the Foundation has sponsored the Young Authors Contest since its inception. We solicit story and poem entries from students in grades K through 12 across Tucson, including charter and homeschooled students. The Foundation provides $100 in gift certificates to the winners and publishes an anthology of their works, fostering creativity and a love for writing among young individuals.
  • Support for Other Nonprofits
The Altrusa International Foundation of Tucson, Inc. is proud to partner with and support a variety of local nonprofits that align with our mission of community service. Through financial contributions, volunteerism, and collaborative efforts, we help amplify the efforts of organizations working in areas such as literacy, education, public health, and social services. Our ongoing support for local causes strengthens the Tucson community and helps to build a better future for all.
